School Board Vacancy


The Southern Door County School District is accepting applications for a school board vacancy created by board member, Tammy Sternard's resignation. We thank Ms. Sternard for her years of service as a board member, and most recently, her leadership as the board president.

Applicants must be a US citizen, 18 years of age or older, resident of the district for at least 28 consecutive days at the time of filing, and not disqualified from voting under Wisconsin law. Applications are due in the district office by Friday, May 31, 2019 by 3:00 PM. Please submit to Board of Education Clerk, Pamela Parks, c/o Sue Ann Hubbard, Southern Door School District Office, 2073 CTH DK, Brussels, WI 54204. Applications and further informationmay be picked up in the district office or found at the links below.

Applicants will also be asked to make a 5-minute presentation on their interests and qualifications at the June 17, 2019 school board meeting. An appointment will be made after a vote by the board. As soon as the appointee takes their oath of office, they will become a member of the board. The term of the vacancy is until April 2020, at which time the seat would be up for a one-year term by election.
